Faleen ridden by Stephanie JunkerFaleen is a 6 yr. old chestnut Thoroughbred mare who stands 16h.  She was originally rescued because of owner neglect.  As with all the Thoroughbreds from this herd, she is extremely sweet, sensitive and has a willingness to please and learn.

She has had formal training--under saddle--English ridden - hunter/jumper prospect and very willing dressage basics.  She is fostered and they report that she has no bad habits, does not buck, is good for the farrier, bathing, clipping, grooming and tacking.  She needs an intermediate-to-advanced rider with very soft hands and gentle demeanor.

Since Faleen has always been with a herd, she gets along with all horses, minis, chickens, pigs, and other farm animals.

Available for adoption to a forever home.

Molly Brown and Mike BilskyMolly Brown is a 3-1/2 yr. old mahogany bay Thoroughbred mare, approximately 16h tall.  She has had no formal training because she was used as a recipient mare carrying foals for other mares.  As she had no name, we let her trainer, Mike Bilsky, have that honor.  He felt it was fitting to name her Molly Brown, after the woman who was rescued and survived the Titanic.

Molly Brown has been entered into our Luv Shack Ranch Trainers' Challenge, sponsored by the Ventana Academy Charter School in Cave Creek.  Come cheer for our "unsinkable Molly Brown" and Mike Bilsky at noon on November 7 in TC's Arena.  The Challenge is the finale of the town of Cave Creek's Wild West Days.

Available for adoption or looking for a loving foster home or sponsor.

Forte & Ashlea HickokForte is a Mustang bay gelding who is approximately 5 years old.  He measures 13.3h and is 757 lbs.  He was one of six Mustangs Pinal County Animal Care and Control brought to us on January 19, 2010, who were originally seized from an owner who starved and neglected him.  Rather than send him back to auction to have an uncertain fate, Pinal County called several rescues asking for their help.  Joey Ogburn agreed to take them.  Forte was always "Mr. Personality" and was easily introduced to, and became part of, the herd at Luv Shack Ranch Horse Rescue soon after his arrival.

Forte had some formal training but but started displaying undesirable traits. We have entered him in the Luv Shack Ranch Trainers' Challenge which will be held Nov. 7, 2010 as part of the town of Cave Creek's Wild West Days.  His trainer, Ashlea Hickok is eager to work with him to make him predictable and adoptable.

Available for adoption, looking for a forever home or a loving sponsor.

Joe Estrada and JoviJovi is a 16 yr. old Indian Paint Pony gelding who measures just over 13.2h. As his owner's home was in foreclosure, he was rescued and brought to the Luv Shack Ranch along with his stallmate, Sweet Caroline.  He has a very sweet disposition, probably from having been fed treats for many years by young children on their way to school.  He has only had one owner family but was not given any training.

We have entered Jovi into our Luv Shack Ranch Trainers Challenge. Jovi will be trained by Joe Estrada of Carefree Horses. The 90-days of training will culminate with Jovi showing his stuff at the Challenge sponsored by Ventana Academy School. Come cheer him on November 7 at noon in TC's Arena in Cave Creek. This event is the finale of Wild West Days.

Available for adoption, looking for a forever home or a loving sponsor.
